Since Albert Brown had founded Durable Supply in 1938, the local paper converter has survived several recessions, the start of the computer age and industry wide consolidations. But now the Bergen based company, currently headed by son, Richard Brown, is facing another challenge—the shift to electronic communication from paper records— whose effects could be permanent, or as cyclical as the economy.
